Which Galapagos Animal Are You?

November 19, 2024 Allison & Danielle

It’s no secret that we love the Galapagos Islands! They have it all—wildlife, hiking, snorkeling, surfing, conservation, and not to mention they‘re the ultimate crash course on all things evolution and Mother Nature.

Whether your explorer type is slow-moving like the tortoises, or super social like the sea lions, there's something for every type of traveler here! So, we gotta know...what’s your Galapagos animal alter ego?

Blue-Footed Booby

Some may say you're a little extra or even a bit goofy, but you prefer to think of yourself as an original. You’re truly one-of-a-kind and love showing off your unique quirk and fancy footwork everywhere from the trail to the dance floor. From the heights of the highlands to life underwater, you'll find your footing in the Galapagos while hopping from island to island - each with their own biodiversity as unique as you.

Giant Tortoise

You have a soft spot for slow travel. You love to savor every moment, and you have an appreciation for connecting to the history of a place. While “slow and steady” is often your motto, you’re at the back of the pack because you're busy taking in the sights and spewing wisdom. You’ll find your pace on this adventure while indulging in educational conservation programs and hiking to the rim of the Sierra Negra—the world's second-largest volcanic crater, with views millions of years in the making.

Marine Iguana

You're mysterious and full of surprises, and while you may be a bit rebellious at heart, you’re also totally adaptable to your surroundings. When it comes to activities, you love everything from basking in the sun to diving into the depths of the sea. You’ll feel right at home whether you‘re snorkeling through lava tubes alongside seahorses, sea turtles, and schools of colorful fish or soaking up rays in your downtime.

Sea Lion

You love people, and you love making new friends. You're often the life of the party with your social, playful nature, and you’re always ready to dive into whatever adventure comes your way. To you, going with the flow comes just as easily as rolling in the waves. You'll be the first one to hang ten during a surf lesson in the turquoise waters of Tortuga Bay while your new friends (aka iguanas and fellow WHOA adventurers) watch and cheer you on.

Darwin’s Finch

Your life has been an evolution through multiple versions of yourself—maybe even up to 18! You have a growth-oriented mindset that's always observing, learning, and adapting in order to become the best version of yourself. Your curious nature will appreciate the island-hopping freedom the Galapagos offer and the intimate knowledge the local guides and naturalists provide to ensure more meaning and deeper connections to everything we encounter.
