Daypack
You'll need a small day pack to carry your essentials on summit night. This will be the same pack you’ll carry for the entire hike.
Gloves
Consider packing an extra layer (like a lightweight fleece or a light down jacket) in your day pack. Even if you're bundled up, the temperature can drop significantly, and an additional layer can make all the difference.
Beanie
Hydration is important, especially at high altitude. A water bladder is more convenient than a bottle, and an insulated tube cover will give you more time before the water freezes in the cold temperatures.
Headlamp
The trek to the summit will begin in the dark (around midnight), so light is crucial for visibility and navigating the uneven terrain. Make sure it has brand new batteries in it!
