All our offsetting programs are certified by our partners at Sustainable Travel International. THE CONDITIONS
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
If you don’t like the weather in Iceland, just wait five minutes. This is the theme on all of our Iceland Adventures! In fact, there’s an Icelandic saying that we live by on this adventure, “Þetta Reddast” which translates to “It will all work out okay.” In Iceland, more than anywhere else, the weather will ultimately dictate our itinerary. It’s actually part of the true Icelandic experience, and it’s what the locals do every day! If it’s too wet or hot or cold, we might switch things up for your safety and enjoyment. No matter what, you’re going to have the time of your life. After all, unexpected detours are where the best stories are!
While we’re all looking forward to the eclipse, be ready to embrace what Mother Nature throws our way. If it's cloudy during the solar eclipse, the clouds can block your view of the Sun, making it difficult or even impossible to see the eclipse directly. However, you might still notice the eerie, dimming effect as daylight fades and the sky darkens, especially during totality—like a strange twilight in the middle of the day. Some people say it feels otherworldly, even if you can't see the eclipse itself. Clear skies or not, these six days will be filled with unforgettable experiences, and always remember the one thing that we can all control is our attitude!
THE EXPERIENCE
TRAVEL LIKE A LOCAL
Here at WHOA, we’re proud to always work with local, family owned and operated partners who share our passion of community, connection, and adventure—and that is exactly what you can expect in Iceland! Everywhere we travel we partner operators who, through their local knowledge, deep respect for nature, and warm hospitality woven into every detail, make all our groups feel like an extended part of their family. Our Iceland Team Lead, Björg, embodies the magic WHOA looks for in every collaborator. Her and her team are not just leading hikes and sharing their culture, they help women uncover strength they didn’t know they had. Our team in Iceland offers more than logistics; they create space for transformation, connection, and celebration out in the wild. You’ll feel it in every detail—from the cozy hot tub and sauna on the rooftop of their perfectly situated Base Camp, to the respectful guidance on each hike through Iceland’s otherworldly terrain. Whether we’re hiking volcanic trails or soaking in secret hot springs, you’ll experience parts of Iceland you can only see with passionate locals. We can wholeheartedly say that adventuring is the best way to immerse yourself in the Land of Fire and Ice!
