As a part of our 2014 International Women's Day summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, we raised funding to help support the amazing girls at the Tembea Girls High School in Kajiado, Kenya by building a sports field at the school. After our climb, a group of us spent a few days at the school with the girls, and we had a blast! We made beaded jewelry, studied chemistry and math, hosted a debate, harvested, practiced running a small business, participated in a traditional Maasai ceremony...and, of course, played lots of soccer together! Here are some of our favorite memories from our visit.
Thanks to everyone at the Tembea Girls High School and Beads for Education for welcoming us and being such an inspiration. Keep being awesome! And, thanks to everyone who generously contributed to this effort. We saw firsthand the gratitude and joy your support brings these girls!
