Run the Kilimanjaro Marathon and
summit Mount Kilimanjaro on International Women's Day
For our third annual International Women's Day summit of Kilimanjaro we're upping the ante and bringing together a group of kick ass sporty adventuresses.
On February 28, 2016, three days before we embark towards the highest point in Africa, the Kilimanjaro Marathon takes place in Moshi, Tanzania. This Marathon is a 26.2 mile race (you can also do the half marathon or the 5k) that takes you around Moshi and its surrounding villages, all within breathtaking views of one of the world's seven summits.
The Kilimanjaro Marathon is a registered IAAF race and has official marshaling, time-keeping and refreshment points at designated intervals. The marathon may be used as a qualifier for Comrades. The race has a manageable altitude gain, as the entire run is between 830m and 1150m asl, and is run mostly on paved roads.
As if climbing Kilimanjaro wasn't memorable enough! Try kicking off your journey to the Roof of Africa with a Marathon.
As with all WHOA adventures, if you get four people to sign up for one of our adventures, your trip is free, so get your running club on board and let's do this!
